The IFD100 serves as the in-flight companion application for Avidyne's IFD series avionics, offering Wi-Fi connectivity. It is compatible with IFD software releases 10.2.6.1 and earlier.
It is important to note that the IFD100 is not FAA certified and is classified as a Portable Electronic Device (PED), intended for use as a supplemental display. The capability exists to connect up to two iPads with a single IFD, facilitating the display of sensor data and flight plan information provided that identical databases are loaded in both the App and the IFD.
Moreover, the IFD100 can be utilized in conjunction with Avidyne's Trainer App, which operates on another iPad linked to the same network. Enabling Wi-Fi during the Trainer App initiation will prompt automatic connection with the IFD100.
With few exceptions, the IFD100 offers identical functionalities and displays as its hardware counterpart, the IFD. For further information, kindly consult the IFD Pilot Operating Handbook.
